PROJECT TWO

Project Purpose:

The subject for the second project was my choice. We were told to would choose a website that they think needs to be revamped or redone. The requirements for the second project was to redesign the website using the program Wix and create an abstract outlining the direction for the project. Each project requires an abstract containing a design brief, typography & colors, wireframe, and screenshots of both original and new websites.

Project Research:

The York is a bar with a New York feel. They have a lot of different beers, microbrews and drafts listed on large chalkboards on the brick walls of the bar, with specials that change daily. The York is neighborhood bar bringing locals around the Highland Park area. Many musicians sing at the mini stage in the corner entrance which gives brings a chill & relaxed atomosphere.

Project Summary:

I want to give the website an easy way to access and give a similar feeling as the bar does with all the brick & wood detail. Incorporating the vintage New York atomosphere into the website. I want to keep the website darker so it can match the nights at the bar. I want the website to have an inviting feeling.

Target Audience:

The Target audience is people over the age of 21. The bistro is mainly aimed at the 21- 40 crowd. The types of people who would go are college students, artists, creative people, hipsters.

Desired Message:

I want to give a warm, rustic feeling to the website matching the actual atomoshpere of the bistro/bar. The bar has a lively feeling and I want to incorporate that in to the website while keeping the images of the bar included.

Look and Feel:

Looking at the actual pictures of the restaurant, it has a rustic vintage feeling to it with the wood, brick, dim lighting. I want to use colors like blacks, whites, browns, and, darker yellows.
